Resolution: Work restituted to heirs or other representatives

Resolution Date: June 2001

In 2000, the Italian government contacted the museum and presented records showing that “Spring Sowing” had been stolen from the Italian embassy, where it was on loan, in Warsaw during World War II. The next year, the museum officially turned the painting over to the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
